Bacopa monniera

Bacopa monniera is an Indian herb which has been used in Ayurvedic alternative health care for centuries.  The herb has been historically used as a natural brain enhancer to support memory and mental focus, which has been borne out by modern scientific research.

Bacopa contains natural nutrients called bacosides which help to improve the activity of neurotransmitters in the brain and also have adaptogenic properties.  Adaptogens are substances that help the body cope with external stresses such as toxins in the environment and internal stresses such as anxiety and insomnia. In addition, bacosides have been clinically shown to have antioxidant properties which may provide protection against the damaging effects of free radicals in the brain.

Noopept is a nootropic agent that is a powerful memory supporter, benefiting the formation, consolidation and retrieval of memories. Recent studies have identified that noopept also possesses neuroprotective properties, useful during aging. Its primary mechanism of action is through increasing the circulating levels of glutamate, an essential neurotransmitter. Noopept has an active onset, with cognitive effects noted within 15 minutes of oral intake for some users.

Also known as Convolvulus pleuricalis, shankpushpi is an Ayurvedic herb which may help to support memory and the intellect.  It consists of microphyllic acid and other beneficial substances which are intellect promoters in part due to antioxidant activity which reduces free radicals.

Jyothismati is a large, woody climbing shrub found in higher elevations in India.  It is also know as the “intellect tree” or Celastrus pleuricalis.  The oil of the seeds of this shrub act as a powerful antioxidant, and have been used to support memory in the Ayurvedic tradition for centuries.

Rounding out this stack of nutrients is L-Theanine which is an amino acid found in green tea.  Scientific research suggests that taking L-Theanine affects the emission of alpha waves in the brain associated with states of relaxation and focused attention. Preliminary research has shown that L-Theanine crosses the blood brain barrier, and further that it may support healthy neurotransmitter levels in the brain.

Suggested Use: Take two capsules daily with water and preferably, with food. Each bottle of Laser contains 60 capsules which is a one month supply of 30 doses. While certain individuals may start to feel the effect of Laser on first use, Laser is intended for sustained and long term usage, and optimal results may be achieved after 30 days of taking our product.

Consult a medical doctor before taking this or any other nutritional supplement if you are pregnant, nursing, have or suspect a medical condition or are taking any medications. Store in a cool, dry place. Keep out of reach of children.

White Paper on Laser

Laser: The Nootropic Brain Enhancer

Laser is our nootropic stack, or combination of ingredients, specially formulated to support several essential brain functions, including concentration, memory and cognitive abilities. Examples of cognitive functions include problem solving and decision making. As tasks become increasingly complex, cognitive performance is dependent on the various neural networks responsible for discrete cognitive skills.

How does Laser support brain functioning?

The components in LASER were specifically selected because they may enhance cognition by complementary methods of action. It is the synergy of this stack that promotes superior cognitive performance.

Memory enhancement is a complex process that involves memory formation, consolidation and retrieval. Noopept, one of the active components of LASER, has been clinically shown to support these three critical components of memory. Noopept has been shown to benefit Brain-Derived Neurotropic Factor (BDNF), one of the most important molecules responsible for short-term and long-term memory persistence, Bacopa, another active component of LASER, also may support memory in both healthy individuals. It also has been shown to increase the production of Tryptophan Hydroxylase, crucial to serotonin production.

Neuron communication

Cognitive functioning is dependent on communication between brain cells, known as neurons. Neurons are arranged in neural networks, which are necessary to perform cognitive tasks like sensory processing and problem solving. Neurons “talk” to each other using chemical neurotransmitters. Noopept has been shown to prevent the breakdown of Glutamate, one of the most important neurotransmitters involved in cognitive functioning. Noopept has been shown to potentially increase the availability of neurotransmitters.

Bacopa contains Bacoside-A, which has been shown to enhance the activity of neurotransmitters. Bacopa also has been shown to promote activity of the hippocampus, a powerful modulator of cognitive functioning.

Brain cells, known as neurons, are particularly vulnerable to damage from molecules known as free radicals. Free radicals cause oxidative stress that damage DNA and impair the functioning of cell substructures such as mitochondria. Oxidative damage leads to chronic neurologic decline.

The three Ayurvedic nootropics in the LASER stack have potent antioxidant properties and have been used for centuries for their neuroprotective properties. Bacopa is well known as a “brain tonic” in the Ayurvedic tradition, protecting the brain from decline related to oxidative damage Shankhpushpi has been used in Ayurvedic health to support intellect and memory. It contains microphyllic acid that has been shown to provide antioxidant protection from free radical damage. Jyothismati is also a powerful antioxidant used for centuries to support memory function in Ayurvedic health.

Stress Reduction

The calming effect of bacopa is well described in the medical literature. It is classified as an adaptogen, a class of supplements that ease anxiety and balance the body’s physiologic response to common internal and external stresses. A key mechanism for attenuating anxiety is bacopa’s actions on the regulation of serotonin, a neurotransmitter responsible for mood. L-Theanine, which rounds out the loaded LASER stack, helps to confer relaxation without any associated sedative effects. As it is an amino acid found in green tea, L-Theanine can help focus and improve attention.
